Tour Overview

See Armenia from south to north on an eight-day panoramic journey through the country’s most important cultural monuments, mountain landscapes and historic towns.

Travel from Yerevan to Garni and Geghard, then continue through Khor Virap, Areni, Noravank and the prehistoric site of Karahunj to Goris. Cross the Vorotan Gorge by cable car to Tatev and return north through Selim Pass, Noratus, Lake Sevan and Dilijan.

The final programme includes the UNESCO-listed monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin, a free day in Yerevan and a comprehensive capital-city tour.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Yerevan

Meet your representative at Zvartnots International Airport and transfer to the hotel. After check-in, enjoy free time to rest and prepare for the journey.

Day 2

Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Yerevan

Drive to the Kotayk region and stop at Charents Arch for views towards Mount Ararat.

Continue to the Azat Gorge and the Symphony of Stones. Visit the first-century Temple of Garni and the medieval Geghard Monastery, partly carved into the surrounding rock. When available, enjoy traditional spiritual chants before returning to Yerevan.

Day 3

Yerevan - Khor Virap - Areni - Noravank - Karahunj - Goris

Visit Khor Virap for its iconic view of Mount Ararat, then travel through the Vayots Dzor wine region to Areni-1 Cave.

Continue to Noravank Monastery among red cliffs and visit Karahunj, a prehistoric complex of tombs and more than 220 standing stones.

Drive to Goris for an overnight stay.

Day 4

Goris - Tatev - Orbelyan Caravanserai - Noratus - Sevan - Dilijan

Travel from Goris to the medieval Tatev Monastery using the Wings of Tatev cable car across the Vorotan Gorge.

Continue to the well-preserved Orbelyan Caravanserai on the historic Silk Road, then visit the remarkable khachkar cemetery at Noratus. Travel to Lake Sevan and Sevanavank Monastery before continuing through mountain gorges to Dilijan.

Visit Goshavank and Haghartsin monasteries. Optional outdoor activities may be available near Yenokavan. Overnight in Dilijan.

Day 5

Dilijan - Haghpat - Sanahin - Yerevan

Drive to the Lori region and visit Haghpat Monastery, built on a hillside overlooking the Debed River valley.

Continue to nearby Sanahin Monastery, historically associated with Haghpat and separated from it by the deep gorge. Return to Yerevan for free time and an overnight stay.

Day 6

Free Day in Yerevan

Enjoy a full free day in Yerevan for independent sightseeing, shopping, dining or relaxation.

Day 7

Yerevan City Tour

Discover Yerevan with visits to the History Museum of Armenia, the Cascade Complex, Mother Armenia and Victory Park.

Continue to the Armenian Genocide Memorial, Matenadaran manuscript repository and Vernissage open-air market. Complete the day with a guided visit and tasting at a renowned Yerevan brandy factory.

Departure from Yerevan

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Zvartnots International Airport for departure.
