People were engaged in winemaking in Armenia about 6200 years ago. Vayots Dzor region, especially Areni village, has been the cradle of Armenian winemaking for millennia. The “Hin Areni” factory was founded here, using the unique opportunities provided by nature. It was designed by the famous Argentine specialist Mario Khapas. The winemaking traditions in this factory are combined with modern equipment. The latter were imported from France and Italy.
The company’s vineyards are located at an altitude of 1215-1250 m above sea level and cover an area of 32 hectares. The harvest is gathered here and selected by hand, and the wine is aged in oak barrels brought from Artsakh.
The factory organizes tours accompanied by a guide and tastes of wines. Areni, Voskehat and Rose are famous and popular wines.
